Plant and Equipment
Plant machinery such as Lift trucks, Excavators, Dumpers and Loaders are the work horses of the industrial, land based, and construction industries. Different types of machinery and attatchments make them very versitile and effective work tools. However even the most experienced operators can get themselves in to potentially dangerous situations.
Accidents can and do occur when workers are operating plant equipment without recieving the correct training, and the costs to industry in terms of legal claims, disruption to work, increased insurance premiums and distress is considerable.
The legal obligations placed on employers by the Health and Safety At Work Act 1974 can result in prosecution if they are found to be neglegent where training is concerned.
Our training courses combine classroom presentations with practical sessions to develop the candidates knowledge, skill and confidence and provide both new and experienced operators with an understanding of safety awareness and risk assessment to reduce the likelihood of an accident occuring.
Training can take place at our centre or on your premises (if appropriate) and is conducted in small groups (for accreditation Max 3) so the candidates recieve as much time and tuition on the machines as possible, enabling employers, employees and the self employed to meet their obligations under the relevent Health and safety law, thereby providing a safer environment in which to work.
Training is a legal requirement under the Health and Safety At Work Act 1974 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulation 1998 (PUWER). These state that you must recieve adequate training in the safe use and handling of machinery and equipment and any risks such use may entail. If you are self employed the regulations still apply.
The awarding bodies that we operate under (see below) have many years experience in developing training courses to the highest of standards. Our courses are delivered by registered Instructors, so you can be sure that you will be trained by people who are qualified and experienced with the relevent plant and machinery.
On successful completion of the course candidates will recieve a certificate of basic training and a recognised skills ID card (ID card is optional)
